This script is useful in sending a (or several) file to people who request it, like if you offered to re-distribute a file when people ask for it.
It parses the "Subject:" line for a user-defined sub-string (case-insensitive), and replies to the messages in your "In" box that match this sub-string, quoting the text, adding your .signature (if that's the default in Eudora) and appending the file of your choice.
The files and subject to match are defined the first time the script is run. They can be removed only by re-compiling the script, so it's wise to make copies of the "virgin" script and work on those.
This script is very simple, but makes a very good use of AppleScript lists to keep track of all the "Subjects" and associated files you wish to send.
It is saved as an AppleScript applet so that you can put it in your Apple Menu Items folder, your Startup Items folder or whatever other folder you use. Also, you can do like me and have NotifyMail (an excellent shareware) trigger this script whenever you receive mail.
This script is postcard-ware (or email-ware, if you're so inclined...)
Feel free to improve on it as you see fit. Send me a copy if you do!
If you like it, please send me a postcard of your hometown!
